We all have this desire to be with God our Spirit and soul desires it but our human flesh wants the desires of this world. There are times that we feel unforgiven but the fact is Christ has already forgiven us, the sins we have committed and the sins yet to come, the thing is we don’t forgive ourselves and it’s a huge stumbling block for Christians to move forward and be at peace. We run ourselves down thinking we are not good enough when we forget that Jesus died so that we can live a life more abundantly and have everlasting life.

When we are overpowered with sin and shame we lose sight of our faith and who Jesus is. We are more focused on not forgiving ourselves so we fall away from God because we feel ashamed but Jesus said “Give your burdens to me and I shall give you rest”. How to get over that shame is to have a deep and open conversation with God repenting and humbling yourself before Him and to remember that He cares for you because you are His child, nothing you do will separate the Love Jesus has for you He paid for the sins of this world.

Galatians 5:16,: “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

Galatians 5:16–26 focuses on how God’s Spirit gives those in Christ the power to serve others in love. We must allow the Holy Spirit to lead, however. When we don’t, our selfishness will lead us into all kinds of sinful lifestyles. When we live by the Spirit, on the other hand, we gain more than just being able not to live in sin. What comes out of us are a collection of powerful, positive characteristics.

It’s not always easy as our flesh is weak but our Spirit is strong see your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may deceive and devour he wants you to feel ashamed and likes bringing up your past so that you may feel shame and move away from the Lord that is his master plan to bring separation between you and God. To fight these schemes of the devil you have to put on the full armor of God especially when your mind is being attacked put on the helmet of salvation.

As a believer in Jesus Christ you have authority over anything that is in your path, don’t beat yourself up over shame because no person is without sin, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It’s time to start forgiving yourself for sins you have committed because Jesus already forgave you for it, true repentance is change, not being the same person you were but becoming a better person because the Holy Spirit is inside of you and convicts you when you have wronged. Your flesh has urges for this world and wants the pleasures it has to offer, your body and spirit are in constant battle, because your flesh desires earthly things.

When I was living in sin as a homosexual my flesh chose sin, the more I got the more I wanted .If you are struggling with this Jesus can save you there are no sin big or small, sin is sin. When you first felt attracted to a person of the same sex and kissed them for the first time why did you feel uncomfortable to tell someone about it? Because your soul and spirit knows it is wrong, it has nothing to do with society because in society they tell you love is love and you can be free loving who you want, that is so wrong because that is of the world and If you choose the world you are an enemy of Christ. I strongly believe that you cannot live in sin and be a follower of Christ just look at the story of the woman caught in adultery John 7:53-8:11 the words Jesus said to the Pharisees, “He who is without sin throw the first stone “and none of them threw a stone, Jesus went on saying

“Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said,

“No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

The meaning of that is not to judge but it also means that when you meet Jesus and follow Him that you would obey Him and be focused on spiritual things not on earthly things, God wants you to life in righteousness not in sin.

What the bible condemns you think is okay but you only follow certain scriptures. When you only read certain scriptures that are applicable to you then you can just throw your bible away, what is the use of having one if you don’t follow everything it says?.

We cannot use God how we want, I used to do that while living in sin I would sleep with someone ask for forgiveness and just do it all over again with someone different I used to drink a lot getting passed out in clubs and do it all over again. Please tell me is that a life? Jesus was so gentle with me that He gave me a new heart, to seek the things above and not of this world. I’m happier then I have ever been in my life, the road is lonely sometimes but walking with Jesus makes it easier. Choosing a life of celibacy was the best decision I made to become free from sexual immortality.   Jesus loves you and wants your heart when we truly trust in Him things will start working out for the better.

Do you believe that your worst sin has been separated from who you are as far as the east is from the west? For those who take refuge in Christ, this is the truth about even your most shameful sin—it is no longer a part of you. Other people may remember, and you may remember, but to the one whose remembrance counts for eternity, your sin is nailed to the cross and no longer has power over you.

Don’t be a slave to sin Jesus paid the price for you to be free and break the bondage of sin. Grace overcomes shame I love how one scripture in John describes that Jesus chose us first before we chose Him.

 John 15:16

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit–fruit that will last–and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

I pray that this will help you have a blessed day and love Jesus with all your heart.

I love you too.
